Pollution
*INTRODUCTION* Pollution means the wrong things end up where they shouldn’t be. Air, water, soil, even the sounds we live with. Some of it we cause - factories, traffic, farms, building sites, dumps. Some of it nature causes - volcanoes, wildfires, dust storms. Doesn’t matter where it starts. In the end people get sick, wildlife struggles, and the land takes a hit. It mostly shows up four ways: air, water, soil, and noise. *AIR POLLUTION* We feel this one first because breathing isn’t optional. Dust, smoke, exhaust, nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide - they drift into the air and straight into our lungs. On a clear day you might not notice. Over time your body does. Stick with it long enough and you’re dealing with asthma, bronchitis, heart trouble, sometimes cancer. Kids and older people get hit hardest.
